We continue to work with the local authority and various other Agencies because keeping up to date with developments in the local housing market is vital for providing our first rate services. 
 
We have been closely involved with the consultation on recently introduced and impending legislation so if you want to know more do contact us.  Some of the issues we have been involved with include:
 
  • Local Housing Allowance introduced in Torbay from the beginning of April 2008.
 
  • Deposit Regulation that has been in force since April 2007
 
  • Energy Efficency Rating for Privately Rented Homes in force since October 2008
 
  • The regulation of Landlords and Agents (see The Rugg Report)

Tenant Accreditation

We are working on our own 'Tenant Accreditation Scheme' aiming to provide packs of valuable information for tenants when approaching prospective future landlords, agents or even mortgage lenders - these will include information to confirm their credentials as sound clients.  If you have any comments or suggestions to make while we prepare the scheme do let us know.
 
Our most valued tenants pay rent promptly, look after their homes well,  communicate effectively with us and make good neighbours!
